Job Summary
We are seeking a mechanical, basic electrical, and basic control and instrument maintenance technician to support and learn about various generation plants throughout Wisconsin, including coal, gas, combustion turbine, solar, wind, and battery facilities. The role involves mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, cleaning, inspecting, construction, welding, and operating mobile and heavy equipment.
Residency Requirements
- Must live within 60 minutes of one of the following locations:
Columbia, Edgewater, Riverside, or Madison.
- Travel time from your primary residence to assigned headquarters must be 60 minutes or less under normal driving conditions.
What You Will Do
- Perform mechanical and basic electrical and instrument/control troubleshooting.
- Maintain, repair, clean, inspect, and construct equipment and systems.
- Operate and obtain information from mechanical and electrical devices to support diagnostics and work activities.
- Gather, interpret, and log data.
- Use machine tools and hand‑powered tools as required.
- Operate mobile and heavy equipment for maintenance tasks.
- Perform welding activities.
- Support safety, plant reliability, productivity, and efficiency improvements through continuous improvement activities.
- Perform plant and shop area housekeeping functions.
- Carry out other duties that are similar, related, or incidental to this position.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Journey level experience in the mechanical trade.
Other Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must meet residency requirements listed above.

- Well‑developed machining skills.
- Knowledge of welding theory and skill.
- Knowledge of company safety rules.
- High mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
- Strong leadership ability.
- Physical ability to meet job requirements.

Pay Range
$43.85 – $56.22 per hour.
