X-Ray Technologist (Radiology Technician)

Location: Akron Campus – Akron, OH

Department: Diagnostic Radiology

Facility: Summa Health

Assignment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)

Contract Dates: July 12, 2026 – October 10, 2026

Shift: Nights | 8:00 PM – 6:30 AM

Schedule: Four (4) 10-hour shifts per week with every 3rd weekend required

Start Date: July 5 or July 12 preferred (No August start dates)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced X-Ray Technologist to join the Diagnostic Radiology team at Summa Health's Akron Campus. This opportunity is ideal for a skilled radiologic technologist who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity Level I Trauma Center. The selected candidate will perform diagnostic imaging procedures while delivering exceptional patient care and collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Accurately position patients and operate radiographic equipment to obtain optimal diagnostic images.
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and dignity throughout all imaging procedures.
  • Maintain radiation safety standards and follow all hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Utilize hospital and radiology information systems for documentation and image management.
  • Assist with select CT procedures as appropriate based on training and competency.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, patients, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain imaging equipment and report equipment concerns promptly.
  • Respond efficiently in a busy Level I Trauma environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Registered or registry-eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Current Ohio Radiographer License.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent X-Ray experience.
  • Required: Previous experience working in a Level I Trauma Hospital.
  • Experience performing additional radiology procedures, including select CT procedures, is preferred.
  • Strong communication, patient care, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to safely lift, transfer, and position patients as required.

Required Certifications & Licensure

  • ARRT Certification
  • Ohio Radiographer License
  • BLS (AHA)
