Job Summary

As a CNC Machine Operator/Programmer

, you’ll operate, maintain, and monitor woodworking machinery, such as CNC routers, panel saws, and edge banders, to produce high-quality wood components for high-end architectural millwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate various woodworking machines according to production specifications and safety guidelines.
  • Select, load, and unload materials, such as wood, veneer, and laminate, ensuring the correct materials are used for each work order.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work order instructions to ensure accurate cuts and assembly.
  • Interpret design files (CAD/CAM), blueprints, and work orders to create or adjust machine programs, including setting zero and reference points, tool offsets, and fixture setups.
  • Monitor machine performance, inspect finished products for quality and accuracy, and use precision measuring tools like calipers and micrometers to verify specifications.

Monitor and adjust settings as needed to optimize performance, minimize waste, and maintain product quality and tool life.

Troubleshoot equipment issues and routine maintenance, cleaning of machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Perform quality control inspections on finished parts to check for defects, imperfections, and inconsistencies, using precision measuring tools.

Working effectively with team members, communication, and contributing to a positive work environment.

Arrive on time, complete tasks as scheduled, and being reliable.

Understanding and following established rules and guidelines.

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years’ experience as a Machine Operator/Programmer in a manufacturing environment, preferably with woodworking or cabinet components.
  • Independently, with limited supervision, run Biesse nested-based manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings accurately.
  • Basic knowledge of tooling for the millwork industry.
  • Maintain high-quality standards on commercial projects.
  • Ability to compute basic mathematics principles, including addition, subtraction, reading a tape measure, and converting inches/mm.

Physical Requirements

  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods.
  • Prolonged standing 8+ hours per day.
  • Unconditioned warehouse environment for 8+ hours per day.
  • Continued use of hands to handle, control, feel objects, tools, and/or controls 8+ hours per day.
  • Prolonged exposure to hazardous equipment.
  • Assisted lift to 100 lbs. multiple times per day.
