Job Overview: Boomtown Design is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Router Operator to contribute to our custom cabinetry, millworks and general construction projects. This individual will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the CNC router machine to produce high-quality parts and components for various applications. This role requires a solid understanding of CNC machine operation and safety standards, as well as a keen eye for precision and quality control.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Setup and calibrate CNC router machine according to the provided production files. Ensure all fixtures, tools and materials are correctly loaded for the production run.
- Operate CNC router machines to cut, shape, or drill materials such as wood, plastic and composites according to specifications.
- Monitor the quality of parts being produced, inspecting for accuracy, consistency, and surface finish. Make necessary adjustments to meet quality standards.
- Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of the CNC router machine and manage repairs as needed.
- Ensure correct materials are loaded, unloaded, and handled safely. Manage raw materials inventory and assist with material ordering as needed.
- Perform final material inspection, label and stack finished materials for ease of assembly for production and install teams.
- Follow all company safety standards, ensuring the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and machine safety protocols.
- Work closely with other team members, including CNC Designer + Programmer, Drafters and Project Engineers, to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Assist with organizing surrounding work space, material intake process and general workflow.
- Other tasks may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
- Required to be consistently punctual, reliable, presentable and safe.
- Proven experience operating a CNC router machine(s), ideally in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong focus on quality control, with the ability to spot defects and make adjustments as needed.
- Basic knowledge of CNC router machine maintenance and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience working with AutoCAD, Mozaik, Vectric VCarve and / or Fusion is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 75 lbs), stand for long periods of time and work in a factory environment where you are exposed to machinery, noise and fluctuating temperatures.
- Must be available to work Monday- Friday, 7 AM - 3:30 PM. A 30-minute lunch break on your own time is required daily.
- Occasional overtime may be required to meet production deadlines.
