Step into a specialized Hematology & Oncology unit where compassion, organization, and teamwork come together to support patients navigating some of their most challenging health journeys. Our Hematology & Oncology Unit cares for patients receiving treatment for cancer and blood disorders, including chemotherapy, blood product administration, symptom management, and complex medical care.
As a Medical Unit Receptionist (MUR), you serve as the central hub of communication for the unitβsupporting nurses, providers, patients, and families to ensure seamless and efficient daily operations while helping create a welcoming and supportive environment for those in our care.

What You'll Do
- Serving as the primary point of contact for incoming calls, visitors, and interdepartmental communication
- Supporting admissions, transfers, and discharges within the electronic medical record
- Assisting nurses and providers with coordination of care and message routing
- Maintaining accurate documentation, patient charts, and unit logs
- Scheduling tests, procedures, and patient transport as requested
- Ensuring workstations, supply areas, and communication tools remain organized and up to date
- Supporting patient flow in a fast-paced, specialized care environment
What We're Looking For
- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Experience: One year experience in healthcare, preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required.
- Additional Skills (preferred): Experience with answering multiple phone lines. Basic computer skills. Excellent customer service behaviors.
