Security Officer
Join our dedicated team as a Security Officer, where your main responsibility will be to ensure safety and security as specified in the post orders. You will build collaborative relationships with customers, local law enforcement, and fire departments while maintaining a keen awareness of your surroundings. Our Security Officers demonstrate outstanding customer service and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage entrances and control pedestrian and vehicle traffic effectively.
- Conduct regular patrols of buildings and their perimeters.
- Safeguard materials and personnel by providing escorts as required.
- Inspect security measures and fire hazards diligently.
- Undertake special assignments as needed.
Essential Duties:
- Punctually report to your assigned post in full uniform.
- Present a professional image by greeting customers, visitors, and employees courteously.
- Stay updated on revisions to post orders and essential information shared by the customer and the organization.
- Be proactive in patrolling or maintaining a fixed post, remaining vigilant to report suspicious activities and investigate incidents.
- Monitor security cameras and equipment continuously, in line with the post orders.
- Understand emergency protocols to respond effectively to alarms and incidents.
- Complete Daily Activity Reports, Log Book entries, Incident Reports, and any other relevant documentation.
- Provide management with recommendations on safety and loss prevention improvements observed during your duties.
- Familiarize yourself with life safety systems, fire panels, CCTV systems, and other related equipment to ensure efficient operation.
- Ensure all training and compliance guidelines are met as outlined by the organization.
- Communicate daily with the Security Supervisor about any new security issues or procedural changes.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Integrity, alertness, and discipline, as the custodian of employee and customer safety.
- Consistent and dedicated vigilance with strong customer service capabilities.
- A proactive, results-oriented approach to handling multiple priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while following directions.
- Sense of urgency and strong oral and written communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening, with employment contingent upon successful completion.
- At least 2 years of experience in loss prevention, life safety, or working with CCTV systems.
- Possession of a State Guard license.
- Flexible availability to accommodate varied scheduling needs.
