Location: East Palo Alto, California

Position Type: Contracted Special Education Teacher

Schedule: Full-Time

Compensation: $45-$55/hour

About the Role:

We are seeking qualified and passionate Special Education Teachers to join a supportive school community for the upcoming school year. Multiple full-time opportunities are available across elementary, middle school, and preschool programs serving students with a variety of learning needs.

Current Openings:

Mild/Moderate Special Education Teachers

  • K–8 caseloads
  • Middle School assignments available

Extensive Support Needs (ESN) Special Education Teachers

  • K–8 programs
  • Middle School and Grades 4–5 assignments

Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Teacher

  • Preschool program
  • Candidates with a Moderate/Severe credential are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals while maintaining compliance with state and federal special education regulations.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success.
  • Assess student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and use data to inform instructional decisions.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes student growth and independence.
  • Implement evidence-based instructional strategies, accommodations, and behavioral supports to maximize student achievement.

Qualifications:

  • Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential.
  • California CTC Mild/Moderate and/or Extensive Support Needs (Moderate/Severe) authorization required, depending on assignment.
  • Experience in Resource (RSP), Inclusion, Special Day Class (SDC), ESN, or ECSE settings preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and educational compliance requirements.
