Position: Bartender-03 INT - 6796

Duties

The purpose of this position is to mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.

Duties include:

• Prepare a variety of alcoholic drinks by selecting the proper premix and garnish, using a working knowledge of mixed drinks.
• Serve patrons directly or deliver to wait staff, receive payment, operate the cash register, and give change to patrons or wait staff.
• Set up the bar for operation, ensuring a presentable and sanitary condition, maintain stock levels, and manage storage and work area access.
• Wash bar equipment, glassware, and utensils following proper sanitation procedures.
• Assist higher‑level bartenders as required and complete required training in the serving of alcoholic beverages.
• Identify and handle unruly or intoxicated patrons, following established procedures.
• Adhere to safety regulations and standards, use required safety equipment, and report workplace hazards and incidents to the supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Experience mixing alcoholic beverages for retail sale (bartender training school may be substituted).
• Experience recognizing and handling intoxicated or unruly patrons.
• Experience following proper cash handling procedures.
• Physical ability to stoop, stand, walk for long periods, lift 5‑10 pounds, pull/push 10‑20 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
• Meet the minimum age requirement for working with and/or serving alcoholic beverages.

Preferred

• One year of experience as a bartender.
