Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Part-Time Medical Receptionist/Front Office team member to join our healthcare facility located in Hillcrest. Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and assist with patient check-in and check-out processes.
- Manage appointment scheduling using electronic health record (EHR) system EClinicalworks.
- Verify insurance coverage, process payments, and handle medical collections accurately.
- Maintain and update patient records in compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Work with referrals/authorizations.
- Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, providing clear communication and effective appointment management.
- Support clinical staff by coordinating care plans and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers.
- Utilize computer skills including Microsoft 365 and specialized EHR systems like eClinicalWorks/EPIC to manage administrative tasks efficiently.
Requirements
- Must have at least 2 years prior experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of health insurance authorization and verification processes, Medicare procedures, and medical billing practices.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, EClinicalWorks is essential.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, and documentation review processes.
- Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations.
- Proficiency in clerical tasks including filing, data entry, and managing office supplies.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative team approach in a fast-paced clinic environment.
- Pleasant demeaner and approach with patients.
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
