Minimum Requirements

• Current GCSD Employee

Desired Qualifications

• Experience working with students in grades Universal PreK, kindergarten, first grade, or second grade is desired
• Child-centered, developmentally appropriate approach to classroom support is desired
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Must be flexible, responsible, and dependable
• Daily attendance is expected

Position Summary / Responsibilities

• Provides direct instruction to individual students or small groups of students under the general supervision of a certified teacher in support of the instructional plan
• Provides teacher with information about students that will assist the teachers in the development of appropriate learning experiences
• Assists students in the use of available instructional resources
• Utilizes their own special skills and abilities by assisting in instructional programs
• Assists teacher in related instructional work as required
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
