About Harper Special Services

Harper Special Services (HSS) is a full-service property restoration company serving the Savannah area. When disaster strikes a home or business — water, fire, storm, or mold — our team guides property owners through one of the most stressful experiences of their lives and returns their property to pre-loss condition.

Our vision says it all: "Restoring Lives Together with Compassion and Excellence." Our goal is not just to restore homes — we restore confidence, stability, and peace of mind. If that resonates with you, keep reading.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Reconstruction Project Manager to take approved insurance restoration projects and deliver them on time, on budget, and to a standard that exceeds customer expectations.

This is a production-focused role — our estimating team writes the scopes and estimates. Your job begins at approval: you'll take a structured handoff from the estimator, verify the scope on site, and own the project from pre-production through final walkthrough. We run a defined, documented operating system for every job, so you'll always know what's expected — and you'll be held accountable to it.

You will report to the Reconstruction Department Manager and direct the work of laborers, and subcontractors.

What You'll Do

Pre-Production

  • Conduct handoff meetings with the estimator to review scope, insurance approvals, and customer expectations
  • Perform a full production walkthrough with the customer to verify scope accuracy and identify missing items
  • Secure signed contracts, work authorizations, and deductible or first-draw payment before work begins
  • Guide customers through materials selections in our showroom and document signed selections
  • Create purchase orders, work orders, and a complete job schedule covering material delivery, subcontractor phases, inspections, draws, and completion date

Production

  • Start jobs on target and drive them to completion, exceeding profitability targets
  • Hold jobsites to a premium standard: clean daily, customer property protected, proper containment and floor protection in place
  • Update every customer at least every 72 hours — even when there's no news
  • Conduct a customer pulse check at 50% completion to confirm satisfaction and address concerns early
  • Document progress with photos, descriptions, and public notes in our job management system
  • Manage change orders and supplements through proper approval and signature before work proceeds
  • Coordinate permits and inspections.

Completion & Collections

  • Conduct final walkthroughs, verify quality, and close out punch lists
  • Obtain Certificates of Satisfaction and request customer reviews
  • Support timely collection of project payments through our structured AR follow-up process

What We're Looking For

  • 1–2 years minimum of project management experience in insurance restoration (water, fire, storm, or mold reconstruction) — this is required
  • Working knowledge of building construction, remodeling, or restoration trades
  • Understanding of the insurance restoration process, including working with adjusters, carriers, and mortgage companies, and executing against approved scopes
  • A genuine customer-service mindset — at HSS, customer satisfaction is not a department, it's a priority in every stage of every job
  • Strong planning and organizational skills — you can see a job from start to finish and build a realistic schedule
  • Financial literacy: comfortable managing job budgets, reviewing job costing, and protecting gross profit
  • Disciplined documentation habits — our process runs on complete, timely records
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with computers, especially MS Word and Excel; experience with restoration job management software (e.g., DASH) a plus; ability to read and interpret Xactimate estimates a plus
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in business or construction management preferred

Who You Are

At HSS, culture isn't a poster on the wall — it's how we hire, how we operate, and how we hold each other accountable. Every step of our process must reflect our core values:

  • Trust — You communicate clearly, set expectations, show up when promised, follow through on commitments, and eliminate surprises.
  • Ownership — You take responsibility for results, proactively solve problems, protect the customer experience, and never say "that's not my job."
  • Passion — You bring energy, urgency, and care to every project. You treat the home as if it were your own and show real empathy to the homeowner.
  • Excellence — Clean jobsites, organized operations, professional appearance, and high-quality craftsmanship, on every job.

If those values describe how you already work, you'll fit right in. If they don't, this isn't the role for you — and we mean that respectfully.

Compensation & What We Offer

  • Competitive salary with commissions and bonus potential
