Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS) is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant / Tax Manager to work in the Toledo, OH area. This position offers a variety of great benefits, competitive base salary, health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Tax Accountant or Tax Manager to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an experienced tax professional who is looking for more than just a traditional accounting position. Primary Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Planning
- Prepare and review complex individual, corporate, partnership, S‑corporation, trust, and nonprofit tax returns.
- Analyze financial information and identify tax planning opportunities for clients.
- Research and interpret federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Identify tax credits, deductions, and strategies that provide value to clients.
- Assist clients with tax projections, estimated payments, and year‑round planning initiatives.
- Review work prepared by staff accountants and provide constructive feedback.
Client Management
- Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service.
- Respond to client questions, tax notices, and governmental correspondence.
- Assist with onboarding new clients and evaluating service opportunities.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations as needed.
Leadership & Team Development
- Mentor, coach, and develop staff accountants and senior associates.
- Assist with training initiatives, onboarding programs, and technical development of team members.
- Review workpapers and tax returns to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with firm standards.
- Foster a collaborative and positive team environment.
- Support scheduling, workload management, and resource planning during peak periods.
Process Improvement & Firm Growth
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, workflow, and client experience.
- Assist with implementation and optimization of firm technology and tax software.
- Participate in strategic initiatives, process improvement projects, and firm‑wide committees.
- Support business development efforts through networking, community involvement, and client referrals.
- Contribute ideas that support the continued growth and expansion of the firm.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting preferred.
Certifications
- Active CPA license preferred.
- CPA candidates actively pursuing certification will be considered.
- Additional certifications such as CMA, EA, or MST are valued.
Experience
- Senior Tax Accountant: 3‑6+ years of public accounting tax experience; experience preparing and reviewing business and individual tax returns.
- Tax Manager: 6‑10+ years of public accounting tax experience; proven experience managing client relationships and supervising staff; demonstrated ability to review complex tax engagements and provide technical guidance.
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience with UltraTax, QuickBooks, and practice management software preferred.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and workflow systems.
