Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting young learners in elementary settings as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist. This contract-to-hire position offers the chance to work with K-4 students presenting a variety of disabilities, helping them achieve communication goals and thrive academically and socially. You'll work throughout the academic year, with 37.5 hours per week, starting in the upcoming 23/24 school year.
Ideal candidates have recent experience in schools, their ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), and are available for full-time hours. DESE certification and a valid Massachusetts SLP license are required. You'll collaborate closely with a supportive interdisciplinary team and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), progress monitor student outcomes, and contribute to a positive school climate.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Masters degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field
- Massachusetts SLP license and DESE certification
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA (no CFs considered)
- Recent experience in a school-based, pediatric, or healthcare SLP settingelementary age experience is preferred
- Ability to adapt therapy approaches for a diverse caseload of disabilities
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and deliver evidence-based speech and language therapy for K-4 students
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and special education staff
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs
- Maintain accurate documentation of services and student progress
- Attend school meetings and provide input on student needs and services
