Position Summary
MainStay Suites Greenville Airport is seeking a dependable, hands-on Head Housekeeper to lead the daily operations of the housekeeping department. This position is responsible for ensuring guest rooms, public areas, laundry facilities, and back-of-house spaces consistently meet Choice Hotels brand standards and the hotel's cleanliness expectations.
The Head Housekeeper will supervise and train housekeeping staff, inspect guest rooms, assist with cleaning and laundry operations, maintain housekeeping inventory, and coordinate closely with the Front Desk and Maintenance departments to ensure rooms are guest-ready and guests receive exceptional service. This is a working leadership position, and the Head Housekeeper is expected to actively clean rooms, assist with laundry, and support the team as business demands require.
Essential Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, coach, and motivate housekeeping and laundry staff.
- Prepare daily room assignments and staffing schedules based on occupancy and business needs.
- Clean guest rooms and public areas as needed to meet productivity goals.
- Perform quality inspections of cleaned guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure compliance with brand standards.
- Ensure all vacant clean rooms are guest-ready prior to arrival.
- Assist with laundry operations, including washing, drying, folding, organizing, and distributing linens and terry when necessary.
- Maintain adequate inventory of linens, towels, guest amenities, cleaning chemicals, and housekeeping supplies.
- Restock housekeeping closets, carts, storage rooms, and linen shelves throughout each shift.
- Coordinate with the Front Desk regarding room status, early arrivals, VIP rooms, stayovers, and guest requests.
- Report maintenance deficiencies promptly and follow up to ensure repairs are completed.
- Ensure proper handling and documentation of Lost & Found items.
- Monitor housekeeping productivity and labor costs while maintaining quality standards.
- Train employees on proper cleaning techniques, chemical safety, infection prevention, and brand procedures.
- Conduct deep-cleaning projects and preventative maintenance inspections.
- Assist with monthly linen and supply inventories.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of housekeeping storage areas, laundry room, and employee workspaces.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and service recovery opportunities.
- Assist other departments as operational needs require.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by hotel management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of hotel housekeeping experience.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Knowledge of hotel housekeeping procedures, laundry operations, and cleaning chemicals.
- Experience with hotel brand standards preferred.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules.
- Basic computer skills and ability to communicate effectively with hotel management and staff.

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
