Position Overview

Gemini is a global crypto and Web3 platform founded by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss in 2014, offering simple, reliable, and secure crypto products and services to individuals and institutions in over 70 countries. As a publicly traded company on the forefront of the decentralized future, Gemini bridges traditional finance with the emerging cryptoeconomy. The Senior Accountant (Financial Reporting) will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of financial reports and associated data for various legal entities across Gemini. This role plays a key part in the preparation, analysis, and delivery of external financial statements, regulatory reporting, and internal management reporting – including quarterly and annual SEC filings, audit coordination, and enhancements to reporting processes and controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare 10‑Q, 10‑K and 8‑K filings, financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual tie‑outs, support schedules and disclosure checklists.
  • Monitor new accounting standards and support implementation.
  • Assist in quarterly variance analysis by quantifying and documenting key underlying business drivers.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages and materials for the CAO, CFO, and leadership team.
  • Document and strengthen accounting and reporting procedures.
  • Collaborate with business and regulatory teams to ensure transactions and new developments are accurately recorded and presented in the financial statements.
  • Implement accounting policies in line with the latest GAAP and SEC Reg S‑X requirements for global team use.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes and drive automation and scalability.
  • Support external audit relationships, consultant communications, and tax advisor interactions, including contingency planning for future transactions.
  • Coordinate outsourcing of financial activities ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and agreed service level agreements.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: An undergraduate degree in accounting, economics, finance, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of work experience in accounting.
  • Big 4 accounting firm experience is a plus.
  • CPA (or equivalent license).
  • Experience with SEC financial reporting.
  • Experience with Workiva, Netsuite, and/or Sage is a plus.
  • Commitment to learning in-depth, with crypto experience considered an advantage though not required.
  • Experience in a regulated industry, preferably financial services, with a proven track record of managing competing deliverables.
  • Excellent judgment, communication, negotiation skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving financial environment.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and relationship-building abilities.
