Company Overview:

The Asset Protection Security Officer is responsible for safeguarding company assets by preventing theft, fraud, and other financial losses, while ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards at one or multiple store locations. This role is vital in creating a secure and safe environment for both customers and associates.

Role and Responsibilities:

As an Asset Protection Security Officer, you will identify potential risks, implement security procedures, and support operational and safety objectives within the store.

  • Detect and manage incidents of theft, fraud, or other security issues to prevent financial losses.
  • Monitor store activities through CCTV footage and exception reports.
  • Audit physical security measures and the Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) system.
  • Promote a culture of shrink reduction and asset protection throughout the store.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate case reports documenting recoveries and apprehensions.
  • Preserve evidence and coordinate with law enforcement as necessary.
  • Provide testimony in civil or criminal court proceedings when required.
  • Report unsafe or hazardous conditions promptly to the Manager on Duty.
  • Perform all responsibilities while minimizing risks to associates, customers, vendors, and the company.
  • Act with integrity and address asset protection and operational concerns raised by associates.
  • Support store goals while carrying out essential asset protection and operational duties.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High integrity and the ability to manage confidential information responsibly.
  • Knowledge of theft and fraud prevention practices.
  • Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and comprehensive reports.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with law enforcement, associates, and customers.
  • Ability to stay calm, focused, and professional under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in asset protection, loss prevention, or security roles.
  • Familiarity with CCTV systems, security audits, and electronic surveillance technology.
  • Experience providing testimony in court or collaborating with law enforcement.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
