Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time LPN/RN to join our healthcare team from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, excellent patient assessment skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality nursing care in a dynamic setting. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with residents requiring specialized medical attention while contributing to a compassionate and professional environment.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, vital sign monitoring, and documentation of clinical observations using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or Epic.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following HIPAA guidelines and aseptic techniques.
- Provide wound care, including suturing assistance and ostomy care, ensuring proper infection control practices.
- Assist with tube feeding management, IV infusions, catheter care, and ventilator support as needed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and long-term care strategies tailored to individual resident needs.
- Respond promptly to urgent situations such as acute pain episodes or emergency triage scenarios in accordance with critical care protocols.
- Maintain compliance with healthcare standards including NCQA standards, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and medical documentation accuracy.
Experience
- Valid LPN or RN license with current state licensure required.
- Prior experience in long-term care facilities or skilled nursing environments preferred; experience in memory care or behavioral health is advantageous.
- Demonstrated proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Epic; familiarity with medical terminology and ICD coding is essential.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia enhances patient-centered care delivery.
- Critical care experience, including ICU or emergency room background, is highly valued for managing complex cases effectively.
- Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and advanced nursing procedures such as IV insertion and phlebotomy is necessary.
