Our private, specialized surgical practice is seeking a skilled and reliable clinical professional to provide intraoperative assistance on a flexible, per-diem (PRN) basis.
We are open to candidates across multiple credential pathways—including Physician Assistants (PA-C), Certified Surgical First Assistants (CSFA), Operating Room Registered Nurses (OR RN), or experienced Certified Surgical Technologists (CST)—provided you have direct, hands-on experience scrubbing and assisting in specialized surgical procedures.
This is an ideal role for a professional looking to pick up extra daytime hours in a focused, independent clinic environment with zero hospital call rotation.
Schedule & Hours:
- Job Type: Part-time, PRN / Per Diem
- Hours: Approximately 4 to 12 hours per week (dependent on weekly case volume)
- Primary Availability Needed: Tuesdays (Day shift)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-level intraoperative assistance to the attending surgeon based on your credential level (ranging from instrument management and maintaining the sterile field to tissue exposure and closure).
- Ensure strict adherence to aseptic techniques and a rigid sterile field throughout the entirety of all procedures.
- Coordinate surgical suite preparation, ensuring all necessary specialized instrumentation, sterile drapes, and supplies are organized.
- Anticipate the surgeon’s needs smoothly to optimize case efficiency and maximize patient safety.
- Assist with surgical room turnover and post-procedure protocols as required by the clinical team.
Required Qualifications:
- One of the following active, unencumbered Florida credentials:
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
- Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA)
- Registered Nurse (RN) with dedicated OR scrub experience
- Physician Assistant (PA-C)
- Minimum of 1–2 years of active, hands-on scrubbing or first-assisting experience (specialized surgical experience preferred).
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Deep understanding of sterile processing, surgical instrumentation, and operating room workflow.
- Absolute reliability for scheduled weekly Tuesday clinic cases.
Pay: Up to $50.00 per hour
