Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Certified Scrub Technologist to join our dynamic surgical team. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of sterile technique, anatomy, and physiology, with a strong commitment to patient safety and quality care. As a Certified Scrub Technologist, you will play a vital role in supporting surgical procedures across various specialties, ensuring optimal operating room efficiency, infection control, and adherence to hospital protocols. Responsibilities

  • Prepare the operating room by ensuring all surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterile, organized, and ready for use.
  • Assist surgeons and surgical teams during procedures by passing instruments, suturing, and managing supplies with precision and efficiency.
  • Maintain strict aseptic technique throughout all phases of patient care to prevent infection and ensure safety standards are met.
  • Collect and document data related to surgical procedures, patient vitals, and intraoperative findings for accurate medical records.
  • Support the care of patients pre- and post-operation by monitoring vital signs and providing necessary assistance under supervision.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in various specialties including hospital medicine, emergency medicine, pediatric care, critical care units such as ICU and PICU, as well as trauma centers.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or other EMR platforms for documentation and data analysis.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and hospital policies while maintaining a clean and organized sterile environment.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Scrub Technologist from an accredited program is required.
  • Prior experience working in Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated expertise in OR procedures, suturing techniques, and aseptic practices.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and critical care principles.
  • Experience with hospital systems such as Epic or other EMR/EHR platforms for medical records management.
  • Knowledge of infection control standards and sterilization processes within healthcare settings.
  • Proven ability to perform data collection accurately while analyzing clinical information efficiently.
  • Experience working in diverse environments including medical-surgical units, ambulatory surgery centers, PICU, ICU, or emergency departments.
