Employee Benefits Account Manager
Location: Carlsbad, CA (In-Person Only)
Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and client-focused Employee Benefits Account Manager to join our growing team in Carlsbad, California. This position is ideal for a professional who is passionate about delivering white-glove service, building strong client relationships, and managing employee benefits programs with accuracy and attention to detail.
The Employee Benefits Account Manager will serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing exceptional support throughout the benefits lifecycle, including renewals, quoting, presentations, enrollment support, and ongoing account management.
This is an in-office position. Candidates must live within 35 miles of Carlsbad, CA, or be willing to relocate.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional white-glove service to employer groups and their employees.
- Serve as the primary contact for client service requests and benefits-related questions.
- Prepare and manage employee benefits quotes, proposals, and renewal presentations.
- Conduct client meetings and effectively communicate benefit recommendations and plan changes.
- Coordinate with carriers, vendors, and internal team members to resolve issues and ensure smooth implementation.
- Assist with open enrollment planning, employee education, and enrollment support.
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
- Manage timelines and deliverables for renewals, implementations, and ongoing service needs.
- Stay informed on employee benefits industry trends, carrier updates, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an employee benefits account management role.
- Strong understanding of employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits.
- Experience preparing quotes, benefit comparisons, and client presentations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Professional, client-focused approach with a commitment to outstanding service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred
- Experience with Ease and/or Employee Navigator benefits administration platforms.
- Experience working with small and mid-sized employer groups.
- California employee benefits experience.
- Active Life & Health insurance license (or ability to obtain one).
- Bachelor's Degree
