Qualifications and Experience:
- Holds a Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education
- Possesses current SC Teaching License
- LD or Multi-categorical certification required
- Experience working with students across K-12 settings preferred
- Knowledge of best practices for serving mild to moderate disabilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to meet students IEP goals
- Collaborate with support staff and general education teachers
- Maintain detailed documentation, including progress reports and data collection
- Participate in IEP meetings and parent conferences
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
- Adapt curriculum and materials as needed for individualized learning
This full-time, onsite position follows a five-day workweek, totaling 40 hours weekly, and covers the 21/22 school year. Your contributions will be valued as you support an average-sized caseload at a single school locationno virtual placements. The district is dedicated to matching educators with schools near their preferred area: Charleston, James Island, Mt. Pleasant, and others.
