About the Opportunity
A well-established manufacturing company is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to support plant operations through cost accounting, financial reporting, and operational analysis. This position partners closely with manufacturing leadership to provide meaningful financial insights, improve cost controls, and support key accounting functions in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Senior Cost Accountant Responsibilities
- Lead month-end close activities and prepare plant-level financial reporting and variance analysis.
- The Senior Cost Accountant will analyze manufacturing costs, inventory, and material usage to identify trends and support operational improvements.
- Partner with plant leadership to provide financial analysis and support business decision-making.
- Maintain standard costing, inventory accounting, and fixed asset records.
- The Senior Cost Accountant will assist with inventory counts, reconciliations, and ERP system reporting.
- Support continuous process improvements and other accounting projects as needed.
Preferred Qualifications for the Senior Cost Accountant Role
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA designation preferred.
- 3+ years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing operations.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
