Responsibilities
- Draw blood samples from patients accurately and safely, including pediatric and geriatric populations
- Prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures
- Explain procedures to patients to promote trust and ease any concerns
- Maintain detailed records and documentation of collections and procedures
- Adhere to safety guidelines and uphold a professional, confidential environment
- Perform specimen processing duties in both clinical and forensic contexts as needed
- Support process excellence and contribute positively to a team-focused environment
Required Skills
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric blood draws
- Ability to provide error-free work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service skills in a retail or service setting
- Proficiency in keyboard and data entry tasks
- Effective communication and organizational skills
Additional Skills & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington)
- Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; over one year preferred
- Two years of related work experience is preferred
- Schedule flexibility to include weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as staffing needs
