CompassCare is seeking an experienced and compassionate caregiver to provide one-on-one care for a wonderful male client in Manhattan.

The client has specifically requested a male caregiver to assist with his personal care and daily needs. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of hands-on experience caring for clients living with dementia, and dementia care training or certification is a plus.

Compensation

$30 per hour

Who We Are:

CompassCare is a private duty home care company that specializes in concierge services. We believe that most people would prefer to live independently at home as they grow older. Our client care is provided by a full care team, to ensure that we are delighting the client every time. Our focus is on providing top level care for our clients while also providing full 24/7 support for our caregivers.

Responsibilities

Our caregivers work in partnership with the Compass Care Client Team and Office Staff to provide the highest level of care and service.

  • Provide concierge-level care, companionship, and engagement.
  • Assist with enrichment activities, outings, and social events.
  • Accompany the client to appointments when needed.
  • Assist with personal care.
  • Prepare meals and perform light housekeeping.
  • Follow the individualized care plan.
  • Complete daily reporting and communicate with the Care Team.
  • Provide care for a male client living with dementia.
  • Be comfortable working in a home with dogs.
  • Work collaboratively with family members in the home.

Requirements

  • The client has specifically requested a male caregiver for this assignment.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
  • Minimum of 2 years of one-on-one senior caregiving experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience caring for clients living with dementia is required.
  • Dementia care training or certification is a plus.
  • Comfortable around dogs.
  • Comfortable working alongside family members in the home.
  • HHA, CNA, PCA, PCT, or another certification related to senior home care.
  • CPR Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain before starting).
  • Strong communication and client service skills.
  • Kind, optimistic, empathetic, dependable, and professional.
  • Passionate about working with older adults.
