About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Line Cook to join the kitchen team at the Oklahoma City Convention Center. You'll prep and cook food to recipe standards under the direction of the Kitchen Manager or Chef, keeping your station clean and helping the team deliver quality service from setup through breakdown in a fast-paced event kitchen.
This is flexible work booked through the WorkWhile app. Pick the shifts that fit your schedule, show up, and get paid as soon as the next day.
Shift Details
- Location: 106 SW 6th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73109
- Pay: $14.25/hour
What You'll Do
- Arrive on time in proper uniform, adhering to all kitchen grooming and conduct standards
- Follow prep and cooking instructions provided by the Kitchen Manager or Chef
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items to recipe specifications, maintaining consistency and quality
- Maintain a clean, organized station throughout the shift — sanitizing surfaces, equipment, and tools regularly
- Follow all food safety and handling practices in compliance with health and safety standards
- Assist with kitchen setup at the start of service and full breakdown at the end of each event
- Support teammates during high-volume periods to keep service running smoothly
- Return equipment, supplies, and ingredients to proper storage areas after use
- Uphold all kitchen procedures, safety practices, and company policies throughout the event

Requirements
- Prior line cook or kitchen experience in a fast-paced environment required
- Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs — this is a physical role
- Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work efficiently and stay composed during high-volume events
- Must be able to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
