Responsibilities

The Office Assistant 1 position processes all incoming and outgoing discovery documents, communicates with various agencies and the public over the phone and email, creates case files, organizes and scans files, files, fax documents, and performs other clerical tasks as needed. The role includes daily courier service to OCS off‑site offices and other agencies, as well as backup support for the front desk and additional clerical duties.

Special Note

All positions require successful completion of a background investigation, including fingerprinting and a criminal records check.

Qualifications

  • Customer Service: Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with the public or other agencies, providing timely and attentive service that reflects positively on the division.
  • Computer Skills: Use computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Show understanding, friendliness, courtesy, tact, empathy, and concern to others; develop and maintain effective relationships with people from varied backgrounds and situations.
  • Attention To Detail: Notice and verify details, recognizing the component parts of a procedure or object.
  • Clerical: Apply knowledge of clerical equipment and software, processes, techniques, and professional standards to complete routine office work to generally accepted professional standards.
