Accountant

Are you looking to launch or grow your career in accounting? Merchants Fleet is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience in financial reporting, cash reconciliation, and process improvements, while collaborating across departments to support the company’s financial health.

Location: Merchants Fleet Headquarters (Hybrid)

What You’ll Do

Ensure accurate documentation and integrity of financial transactions

Manage daily cash reconciliations for multiple bank accounts

Support month-end close and financial reporting, including account analysis and reconciliations

Provide audit support and prepare schedules for annual financial audits

Assist with cashflow forecasting and treasury-related reporting

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency

Work with large data sets and system integrations to ensure accurate financial results

What We’re Looking For

Education Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting , Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA a plus)

0–3 years of experience in public or private accounting

Knowledge of GAAP (Lease Accounting experience a plus)

Skills Strengths:

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organizational and time management skills

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

A fast learner with intellectual curiosity and a can-do attitude

Comfortable working independently and with large data sets

Experience with Great Plains Dynamics, Adra, Planful, Dataserv , or SQL a plus
