Compassionate Animal Care Technician

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care for animals, assisting veterinarians with medical procedures, and ensuring the well-being of pets in our facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care, excellent communication skills, and a passion for working with animals.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
• Perform laboratory tests and analyze results to aid in diagnosis.
• Monitor animal health and behavior, providing necessary care and treatment.
• Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
• Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and training techniques.
• Handle dogs and other animals safely and humanely during examinations or procedures.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the veterinary facility, adhering to aseptic techniques.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and dental terminology.
• Experience in dog handling and training is preferred.
• Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine.
• Previous experience in animal care or veterinary settings is highly desirable.
• Ability to perform pet grooming tasks as needed.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members.
• A genuine passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing exceptional care.

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
