Lead Electrical Project Manager

We are looking for a passionate Lead Electrical Project Manager to elevate our dynamic Electrical Service division. In this pivotal role, you will oversee project direction, completion, and financial outcomes for a variety of construction projects. You will also have the opportunity to mentor and guide other Project Managers and field personnel. Successful candidates will possess strong business management, leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
This position reports to the VP of Service Operations and provides support to the Executive Vice President for the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mentor and develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers.
- Oversee large or complex electrical projects with a trusted approach.
- Collaborate with executive and operations teams to enhance company processes and objectives.
- Lead project aspects including cost management, planning, scheduling, staffing, and ensuring all financial targets are met.
- Manage project activities such as takeoffs, budgeting, procurement, scheduling, and production tracking.
- Facilitate project-related documentation and correspondence through our designated management systems.
- Act as a liaison to clients and project teams to manage scope changes and project milestones effectively.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and service quality.
- Delegate tasks effectively and provide clear, consistent instructions to team members.
- Create and maintain project schedules using scheduling software to maintain control over project timelines.
- Coordinate with Superintendents, Foremen, and other disciplines to ensure alignment on planning and scheduling.
- Communicate consistently with clients for project updates and progress management.
- Establish a reliable tracking method for completed work throughout the project lifecycle.
- Supervise and develop project site leadership for effective operations and training.
- Provide problem-solving support and decision-making guidance to project teams.
- Participate in necessary meetings including kick-off, alignment, status updates, and project closeouts.
- Prepare comprehensive PM Summaries for Project Review meetings.
- Review and analyze bid documents for project feedback and support the estimating and engineering teams.
- Design and implement Prefabrication solutions and strategies with the project team.
- Establish contract budgets and manage change order budgets as needed.
- Conduct Risk Analysis for contracts and negotiate terms with customers.
- Ensure all permits and business licenses are obtained for projects.
- Work with the project team and HR Department to comply with local, state, and employment laws.
- Coordinate with HR on manpower strategies and assist in the hiring process if necessary.
- Review and approve subcontracts and major material purchases.
- Provide ongoing financial projections, progress reports, and work completions to stakeholders.
- Create project documents in Coins: RFIs, PCOs, RFPs, Submittals, and more.
- Review field documents for compliance and accuracy.
- Implement quality assurance strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and review Close-Out Documents including As-Builts and warranties.
- Manage open Purchase Orders and invoices to ensure timely resolution.
- Assist Project Coordinators with collection of receivables as needed.
- Supervise construction projects to meet performance standards and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate materials procurement with approved vendors to optimize efficiency and budget.
- Investigate safety issues in collaboration with Amteck's Safety department.
- Resolve conflicts with clients efficiently through clear communication.
- Engage effectively with other departments to enhance project outcomes.
Requirements:
- 7-10 years of project management experience in electrical construction (industrial and commercial).
- A strong understanding of Electrical Project Management, NEC, OSHA, and Safety Codes/Practices.
- Experience managing electrical construction projects valued between $5M and $15M or more.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with tight deadlines.

- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience with Construction Scheduling Software (Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project).
- Familiarity with AccuBid Estimating Software is preferred.
