Job Title: Phlebotomist

This role offers an experienced phlebotomist the opportunity to provide high-quality patient care and skilled specimen collection in a busy rheumatology office and diagnostic setting. You will deliver exceptional customer service, accurately perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws, and manage related administrative and computer-based tasks. The position has the potential to become permanent for a strong performer who can work independently and maintain a professional, patient-focused approach.

Provide exceptional customer service to all patients, ensuring a professional, courteous, and patient-focused experience.

Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients across all age groups, with a primary focus on teen through geriatric populations.

Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis, following established laboratory procedures and protocols.

Perform data entry of patient and specimen information accurately and in a timely manner using computer systems.

Process billing information and collect payments when required, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Carry out administrative and clerical duties as necessary to support daily operations of the lab and office.

Travel to additional patient service center sites when needed to support coverage and maintain service levels.

Work independently in a rheumatology office setting, managing daily workflow and prioritizing tasks as volume increases, especially during busy morning hours.

Ensure all phlebotomy and specimen handling procedures meet quality and safety standards.

Serve as the primary on-site phlebotomy contact and the face of the organization to patients and clinic staff.

At least 2 years of phlebotomy experience.

Demonstrated experience performing blood draws using venipuncture and capillary techniques.

Phlebotomy certification.

Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients.

Proficiency with computers, including accurate data entry of patient and billing information.

Experience working in a laboratory or diagnostic setting, including specimen collection and processing.

Ability to work independently and manage daily workload without direct on-site supervision.

Experience in a rheumatology office or similar outpatient clinical setting.

Prior experience performing routine lab work for teen through geriatric patient populations.

Familiarity with processing billing information and collecting patient payments.

Experience traveling between or supporting multiple patient service centers.

Interest in a potential temp-to-permanent opportunity with a large, well-known diagnostic organization.

This position is based primarily in a rheumatology office that partners with a large diagnostic organization. The typical schedule is Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. The environment is busy, especially in the mornings, with a daily patient volume of approximately 25-30 individuals, primarily in the teen to geriatric age range. You will often work on your own as the primary on-site phlebotomist, serving as the main contact for patients and clinic staff. The role relies heavily on computer use for data entry, logging, and billing, and involves routine laboratory work and specimen handling in a clinical office setting with standard professional clinical attire.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Garner, NC.
