As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering home-based physical therapy to patients experiencing mobility and strength loss due to illness or injury
  • Collaborating with a dedicated home health team to follow the patient’s personalized care plan and objectives
  • Monitoring patient movements, conducting assessments, documenting progress, and adjusting care plans as required
  • Assisting patients with exercises and providing hands-on therapy to help manage pain and enhance mobility
  • Educating patients about their care plans, established goals, exercises, and self-care techniques
  • Guiding families on the care plan, therapy goals, and safe assistance with exercises

Requirements for PTAs:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program holding an active PT license in Virginia
  • Current CPR Certification
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a physical therapy aide, preferably in a home healthcare setting
  • Familiarity with state and federal home health regulations
  • Strong clinical judgment, interpersonal skills, dexterity, and compassion
  • A valid Driver's License and/or reliable transportation
