Job Description
The Material Handler performs a full range of shipping, receiving, and inventory control activities in a warehouse environment, ensuring accurate movement of materials, timely order fulfillment, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role supports manufacturing operations by handling incoming and outgoing goods, maintaining precise inventory records, and operating material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Prepare shipping documents, instructions, and other required paperwork to coordinate the shipping and freighting of pumps, cartridges, and materials. Pack and prepare products and materials for shipment in accordance with customer specifications and company standards. Maintain detailed records of orders shipped, including weights and shipping charges, to ensure accurate documentation and traceability. Verify that all shipping documentation complies with applicable governmental and regulatory requirements. Schedule and coordinate shipment deadlines with Customer Service to ensure shipments and freight arrive at the correct destination within required timelines. Operate and maintain computerized shipping systems, a 100 lb. scale, 300 lb. hand truck, pallet jack, bubble pack dispenser, and banding equipment. Receive incoming materials, services, and supplies by unpacking and checking goods against purchase orders or invoices. Maintain accurate records of received goods and reject unsatisfactory items in accordance with established procedures. Transfer approved materials to appropriate stockroom locations or deliver packages to internal customers in a timely manner. Coordinate incoming shipments of goods authorized for return with Customer Service, Quality Control, and Quality Assurance teams. Receive product from quarantine and production into finished goods, verify accuracy against shop orders or sterile processing logs, and report discrepancies to the supervisor. Examine stock levels and distribute materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines to support production needs. Pull materials to support work orders and inventory requests, ensuring the correct items and quantities are issued. Perform daily cycle counts and maintain 100% accuracy of all finished goods inventory. Execute daily inventory data transactions in the ERP system to keep records current and reliable. Respond to inventory inquiries and provide timely, accurate information to internal stakeholders. Communicate effectively via email with coworkers and respond in a timely manner during work hours. Perform other related duties as assigned in shipping, receiving, and inventory to support overall warehouse operations. Essential Skills Minimum of 2 years of shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing environment, including material handling responsibilities. Hands-on experience with data entry in an ERP system for shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions. Experience working in an FDA-regulated or GMP environment. Proficiency in shipping and receiving processes, including picking, packing, and international shipping. Experience using pallet jacks, forklifts, and dollies, as well as automated shipping equipment such as FedEx systems. Ability to obtain and maintain the company's forklift certification in good standing. Ability to obtain and maintain a satisfactory California driving record. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to pass a motor vehicle record (MVR) check. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly. Good oral and written communication skills for clear coordination with internal teams. Basic math skills for weights, counts, and shipping calculations. Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with warehouse, production, and office staff. Demonstrated word processing and data entry skills, including accurate and timely email communication. Familiarity with GMP standards and practices in a warehouse or production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with inventory counting, cycle counting, and maintaining high inventory accuracy. Background in international shipping procedures and documentation. Comfort using computerized shipping systems and related warehouse technology. Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a growing warehouse operation. Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation, labeling, and inventory records. Reliability and accountability in meeting deadlines and supporting production schedules.
