CCTV & Store Detective - Retail

Responsibilities

• Alertly monitor CCTV cameras focused on protecting employees, assets, and brands, and remotely or directly support the prevention and apprehension of external and internal theft following company policies.
• Remain calm and communicate with on‑site asset protection security, law enforcement, and store leadership, while professionally documenting and escalating incidents.
• Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
• Guard, patrol, and monitor industrial or commercial premises to prevent safety hazards, theft, violence, or infractions of rules.
• Enforce rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, and respond to emergencies requiring security assistance.
• Write detailed narrative reports and maintain daily activity reports (DARs), including investigating and preparing reports on incidents.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Monitor for irregular or unusual activity.
• Secure facility and designated areas.
• Enforce facility and company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the use of CCTV security systems and radio communications.
• Previous retail loss prevention/asset protection, CCTV monitoring, security, customer service, or criminal justice experience preferred.
• Must possess high integrity, trust, accountability, and work ethic.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Ability to stand, sit, and/or walk for long periods.
• Must be able to walk/run flights of stairs daily.
• Ability to think clearly during crisis or high‑stress periods.

• High School Diploma.
