Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometrist to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough eye examinations using advanced diagnostic tools such as tonometry and slit-lamp biomicroscopy to assess ocular health.
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of eye conditions, including refractive errors, glaucoma, cataracts, and pediatric eye issues.
- Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) and electronic health records (EHR) systems to document patient histories, examination findings, and treatment plans accurately.
- Perform medical procedures such as refractions, contact lens fittings, and ocular health assessments while maintaining aseptic techniques.
- Educate patients on eye health, proper use of corrective lenses, and preventive care strategies tailored to their needs.
- Operate medical equipment safely and effectively while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient care and coordinate referrals when specialized ophthalmology services are required.
- Maintain detailed medical records, including vital signs, medical coding, and treatment documentation in compliance with healthcare standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient concerns with professionalism and empathy while promoting our services to enhance patient satisfaction.
Experience
- Proven experience in ophthalmology or optometry practice with a strong understanding of visual sciences and ocular physiology.
- Hands-on experience with optical equipment operation such as tonometers, autorefractors, and slit lamps.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for efficient documentation and record management.
- Knowledge of pediatric eye care practices to effectively treat young patients.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to eye health and general healthcare diagnosis.
- Experience in medical treatment planning, including prescribing corrective lenses or medications for ocular conditions.
- Ability to perform medical coding accurately for billing purposes in compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA.
