The Advanced Material Handler is responsible for operating forklifts equipped with spreader attachments to move, load, and organize materials within a warehouse distribution center. This role involves handling a variety of materials, including wide or oversized loads that require specialized equipment. The position requires precision, efficiency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while following established procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Operate forklifts with spreader attachments and other powered industrial equipment to transport materials
Load, unload, and move materials, including oversized or wide loads
Properly position and stabilize materials using spreader equipment to prevent shifting or damage
Sort, stage, and organize materials for shipping, storage, or distribution
Use handheld scanning devices to track inventory and shipments
Secure freight within trailers using appropriate tools and methods
Support shipping, receiving, and general warehouse operations as needed
Maintain accuracy and productivity in a high-volume distribution environment
High school diploma or GED required
1+ years of experience operating forklifts or material handling equipment in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment preferred
Experience in shipping, receiving, and/or production material movement preferred
Experience handling heavy materials (e.g., coils, dies, large equipment) strongly preferred
Basic computer skills, including experience with handheld scanners or inventory systems
Ability to read and understand work instructions, safety rules, and shipping documents
Comfortable working at heights while using fall protection equipment
Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment and adapt to varying temperatures
Ability to lift and move heavy materials and perform physical tasks as required
Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company safety policies

Work Environment

Physically active role involving equipment operation, material handling, and continuous movement
