Key Duties:
- Provide security for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, as well as foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C. area.
- Engage in travel to support Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign dignitary missions.
- Enforce your protective responsibilities as mandated under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.
Requirements:
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Possess a current valid U.S. driver's license.
- Must be at least 21 years old at the time of application and under 40 at referral. Exceptions may be made for candidates with prior federal law enforcement experience.
- Ability to carry and use a firearm, with mandatory firearm proficiency maintenance.
- Uncorrected visual acuity must be no worse than 20/100 binocular, with corrected vision of 20/20 or better in each eye.
- Hearing loss must not exceed 25 decibels in specified ranges, and applicants should be able to hear a whispered voice at 15 feet without assistance.
- Pass a drug test prior to appointment and submit to random drug testing during employment.
- Complete 12 weeks of rigorous training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA or Artesia, NM, followed by 17 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD.
- Register with the Selective Service System, or confirm exemption if male and born after December 31, 1959.
