RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Front Office Associate & Limited X-Ray Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Front Office Associate & Limited X-Ray Technologist, you will be responsible for providing services to patients and referring professionals by completing registration, insurance and scheduling duties. This role also serves as a Limited X-ray Technologist, as needed and under the supervision of a licensed radiologist or registered technologist, focusing exclusively on x-rays of the bony anatomy within a defined scope of practice to obtain diagnostic radiographs per state guidelines (may vary by state). This position is full-time, working 7:00am - 3:30pm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(50%) Registration

  • Greet and checks-in patients scheduled for imaging services; processes payments and copays as needed
  • Answer phones and handles calls in an efficient and friendly manner
  • Field phone calls appropriately for Center Team Members
  • Act as liaison between imaging technologists and the patients waiting for exams, and relays messages regarding scanner status and other Clinic information
  • Maintain organization of the front office lobby area by straightening magazines, organizing coffee supplies and assisting with general office cleanup
  • Order office supplies as needed
  • Maintain supply of patient information sheets
  • Push patient imaging via electronic interfaces
  • Complete patient appointment confirmation calls and provide preparation instructions to patients
  • Fax/scan reports, billing information, and medical release forms as requested

(15%) Scheduling

  • Arrange transportation, interpreters, and hotel accommodations for patients when appropriate
  • Enter and submit patient exam orders
  • Verify patient exam orders match exam schedules
  • Schedule referrals and ensures proper authorizations are obtained
  • Schedule walk-in patients
  • Process requests for image orders and CDs from both the referring physicians and patients
  • Maintain an up-to-date and accurate database of all current and potential referring physicians

(15%) Insurance

  • Verify patient’s insurance coverage
  • Pre-certify all patient exams with the patient’s insurance company
  • Obtain insurance authorizations
  • Apply knowledge of insurance carriers (example Medicare) and procedures that require waivers to obtain pre-authorization, if needed, prior to patient appointments
  • Facilitate Release of Information (ROI) requests for patients, referring offices, other medical facilities, attorneys & insurance companies following Company guidelines

15% Limited X-Ray Tech

  • Produce diagnostic images of the bony anatomy, in a limited assigned area of the body, under the supervision of a Radiologist or Registered Radiographic Technologist, per State prescribed guidelines
  • Perform quality control tasks as assigned
  • Promote and motivate good customer relations with patients, physicians, visitors, and other company team members
  • Maintain an orderly and clean work area to promote good safety habits for patients and other team members
  • Maintain accurate patient records within Radiologic Information System (RIS)

(5%) Completes other tasks and projects as assigned
