Optician Receptionist

We require 4 weekend days a month, options include: Every Saturday, Every Weekend, or Every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly, verify appointment details, and assist with check-in procedures using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Epic or similar platforms
• Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments, confirming insurance coverage, and collecting necessary documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Answer phone inquiries promptly, directing calls appropriately and providing information about services offered
• Maintain accurate medical records, including ophthalmology-specific data such as vital signs, medical history, and laboratory results
• Support optical services by assisting with laboratory experience tasks like lens measurements and basic optical adjustments
• Process medical billing and coding related to eye care procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with healthcare standards
• Uphold aseptic techniques during patient interactions and maintain a clean, organized reception area aligned with clinic protocols

Skills

• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times
• Retail sales experience combined with retail math skills to promote optical products confidently and accurately
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics and senior care clients

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
