Job Summary:
The OR Registered Nurse provides high-quality, patient-centered surgical care in a fast-paced operating room environment. This role is responsible for patient preparation, intraoperative support, and post-procedure documentation while collaborating with an interdisciplinary surgical team. The OR RN plays a critical role in ensuring patient safety, adherence to surgical protocols, and efficient workflow throughout the perioperative process.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients prior to surgery and assess readiness for procedures
- Educate patients and families on surgical procedures and perioperative expectations
- Prepare patients for surgery, including IV therapy, medication administration, and site verification
- Participate in surgical safety protocols including time-outs, briefings, and debriefings
- Assist during surgical procedures as a scrub and/or circulating nurse
- Monitor patient status during procedures and respond to emergencies as needed
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care and ensure adherence to best practices
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical techs, and interdisciplinary team members
- Document patient conditions, care provided, and any changes throughout the surgical process
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and workflow efficiency in the OR
Requirements:
- Minimum 1+ year of recent OR RN experience (scrub and/or circulating required)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required
- BLS certification required within 30 days of hire
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment
Schedule:
- Days: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- Nights: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

- Acute care hospital
- Large, 585+ bed facility
- Level I trauma center
