Job Summary

Therapy Resources is an outpatient Physical Therapy Clinic seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Front Desk Receptionist/Patient Care Coordinator to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while efficiently managing front desk operations. Your responsibilities will include coordinating patient appointments, verifying insurance information, maintaining accurate medical records, and supporting clinical staff with administrative tasks. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a positive patient experience and ensure seamless clinic operations through your proactive approach and strong organizational skills.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a welcoming environment while managing multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy.
- Schedule patient appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) such as Webpt
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks
- Collect and review patient documentation, including medical histories, consent forms, and care plans, ensuring compliance with clinical confidentiality policies.
- Assist with medical billing by coding procedures using CPT codes and ICD-10/ICD-9 diagnosis codes; process payments and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Manage electronic health records and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient information.
- Support clinical staff with administrative tasks such as filing medical records, reviewing documentation for accuracy, and preparing reports as needed.
Skills
- Must have excellent communication skills and engages with clients
- Must know how to speak both English and Spanish as needed for patients
- Must have a positive character and pleasant personality (smiles at customers)
- Proven experience in medical office administration or as a medical receptionist within a clinic or dental setting.
- knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA regulations.
- Skilled in medical coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures; experience with insurance verification is highly desirable.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills with clerical experience including filing, scanning, faxing, data entry (10 key typing), and managing multi-line phones.
