We are seeking a qualified Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for a Temp-to-Hire opportunity with a specialty medical practice in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate is an experienced CMA with strong clinical and administrative skills who can thrive in a fast-paced patient care environment. Candidates with experience in dialysis, nephrology, chronic disease management, or specialty care are highly preferred. Responsibilities Prepare patients for provider evaluations and treatments Obtain and accurately record; Vital signs, Medication history, Allergies, Medical history, Chief complaints Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and patient consultations Perform clinical duties within the CMA scope of practice Conduct EKG testing, specimen collection, and phlebotomy procedures Administer medications and injections according to provider direction and state regulations Educate patients regarding treatment plans, medications, and follow-up instructions Provide compassionate, professional support to patients throughout their care experience Prepare examination rooms before patient visits Ensure rooms remain clean, organized, and properly stocked Maintain clinical supplies and inventory levels Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment according to safety standards Follow infection prevention procedures and OSHA guidelines Support efficient patient movement throughout the practice Assist providers and clinical staff with daily workflow needs Scheduling patient appointments Coordinating follow-up visits Managing patient flow and reducing wait times Updating patient records in the EMR system Reviewing and verifying patient information Assisting with insurance verification and authorization requests Answering patient calls and addressing questions professionally Communicating messages between patients and healthcare providers Supporting front-office operations when needed Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality Follow all regulatory, safety, and infection control standards Complete documentation accurately and efficiently Maintain professional communication with patients and staff Support quality improvement efforts Promote a positive, patient-centered healthcare environment
