About The Role
Block LLP is seeking an experienced Habitability Litigation Paralegal to support our attorneys through all phases of plaintiff-side habitability and tenant-rights litigation. This role is ideal for a highly organized, proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys managing complex cases from intake through trial preparation.
The Habitability Litigation Paralegal will play a critical role in supporting cases involving substandard living conditions, landlord negligence, tenant harassment, wrongful eviction, and other housing-related disputes. The ideal candidate has experience handling habitability or landlord-tenant matters, strong knowledge of California civil litigation procedures, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to clients.

What You'll Do
Litigation Support
Assist attorneys throughout all stages of habitability and tenant-rights litigation.
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and other legal documents.
File legal documents with courts and ensure compliance with filing deadlines.
Monitor litigation calendars and track critical case deadlines.
Support attorneys with settlement negotiations, mediations, and trial preparation.
Case Management
Organize, maintain, and update case files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Manage document collection, review, and production during discovery.
Gather and organize evidence, including photographs, inspection reports, repair requests, medical records, and housing-related documentation.
Coordinate with clients, experts, inspectors, contractors, medical providers, and opposing counsel.
Maintain accurate case notes and records within the firm's case management system.
Client Communication
Communicate with clients to obtain information, documentation, and case updates.
Provide professional and timely updates regarding litigation milestones.
Assist clients throughout the legal process with empathy, professionalism, and responsiveness.
