Citadel Health Center is a growing direct primary care office seeking a dependable, professional, and compassionate Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a small office setting, values meaningful patient relationships, and is comfortable caring for both adults and children.

Description Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Phlebotomy training and experience required.
  • Comfort working with children and families required.
  • Pediatric blood draw experience preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills including data entry, typing, scanning, faxing, file management, and electronic transmission of PDF documents. Software may include VOIP phone service, Office 365, Adobe, e-faxing, and Atlas MD, a cloud-based EMR.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Understanding of medical terminology.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards.
  • Professional, kind, and calm communication style with patients and coworkers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small clinical team.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Job Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Handling front desk duties including patient check-in, check-out, scheduling appointments, and answering phone calls.
  • Rooming patients and obtaining vital signs.
  • Routine testing including hearing and vision screens and point-of-care testing.
  • Administering injections as directed and appropriate to training.
  • Performing blood draws and processing specimens for pickup.
  • Preparing lab orders and ensuring accurate specimen labeling, documentation, and handling.
  • Setting up and assisting physician or nurse practitioner with procedures, including laceration repair, pap/pelvic exams, biopsies, and other office-based procedures.
  • Supporting pediatric, adult, and family medicine visits.
  • Scheduling outside tests or procedures for patients.
  • Coordinating referrals and follow-up care.
  • Stocking exam rooms with supplies as needed.
  • Conducting inventory of supplies and reporting items to be ordered.
  • Maintaining lab, vaccine, medication, and clinical supply areas in an organized manner.
  • Assisting in completion of miscellaneous patient forms, including Worker Compensation, Disability, school/camp forms, and other documents as needed.
  • Communicating with patients by phone, portal, email, or text according to office workflow and privacy standards.
  • Documenting accurately in the electronic medical record.
  • Attending staff, educational, or other meetings as required.
  • Assisting with general office flow and miscellaneous tasks as needed.
  • Light office cleaning.

Schedule and

Location:

  • Job will start at approximately 30 hours per week with a preferred Monday/Wednesday/Friday work schedule

. Preferred hours are 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

. There may be some flexibility in the exact schedule for the right candidate.

  • The anticipated start date is mid-August 2026

.

  • This position may have the opportunity to grow into a 40-hour-per-week position as the practice expands.
  • The office is located at:

900 Dix Street STE 300, Otsego, Michigan

Compensation:

  • Competitive hourly pay based on experience.
  • Anticipated pay range: $22 - $26/hour

, depending on experience, phlebotomy skill, Medical Assistant background, pediatric comfort, and overall fit for the practice.
