Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Accountant / Bookkeeper role based in Nashville, TN. The Accountant / Bookkeeper will manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, bank and account reconciliations, and timely recording of financial transactions. The role will assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings, prepare supporting schedules, and help ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with applicable standards and company policies. Responsibilities include maintaining organized financial records, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to provide financial information and respond to inquiries. The role may also support external audits, assist with process improvements, and help implement best practices in accounting and internal controls.
Qualifications
- Strong general accounting and bookkeeping skills, including experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and reconciliations.
- Proficiency with accounting software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks or similar platforms), along with solid Excel skills for reporting and analysis.
- Ability to support financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in all financial documentation.
- Understanding of basic tax concepts, internal controls, and standard accounting principles (e.g., GAAP) relevant to corporate and financial services environments.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with capacity to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across finance and non-finance functions.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Previous experience in financial services, asset management, or a data/analytics-focused organization is beneficial but not required.
