Restaurant Line Cook – Lila’s

Location: Lila’s Cocktail Bar (Hampton Inn & Suites)

Status: Full-Time / Part-Time

Reports To: Executive Chef

Position Summary

Lila’s is a new cocktail bar concept offering playfully inspired cuisine and beverages in a vibrant, welcoming environment. We are seeking experienced and motivated Line Cooks to support daily kitchen operations and deliver high-quality food with consistency and efficiency.

Line Cooks are responsible for food preparation, cooking, sanitation, and maintaining kitchen standards to support an exceptional guest experience for hotel guests and local patrons.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform opening and closing procedures according to established checklists.
  • Prepare, cook, and plate food according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
  • Wash, peel, chop, portion, mix, and store ingredients properly.
  • Monitor food quality and quantities to minimize waste.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures (use dates, temperatures, storage).
  • Support prep work for all kitchen stations as needed.
  • Assist with daily features and menu offerings.
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods; respond to questions from servers or leadership.
  • Assist with basic equipment checks and report maintenance or safety concerns.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of cooking experience in a high-volume or quality-driven kitchen.
  • Culinary training or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow recipes, standards, and written instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and food safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dependable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing menu or service needs.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during service.
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform repetitive prep and cooking tasks.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional kitchen environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, cleaning chemicals, and fast-paced service demands. The kitchen supports a restaurant open to the public and requires adherence to safety and brand standards.
