Kessler Hospitality is currently seeking a full-time Pastry Cook to join the culinary team at the Grand Bohemian Lodge. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the high standards of quality and presentation associated with Kessler Hospitality’s culinary offerings. The Pastry Cook will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of desserts, breads, and pastries that meet food handling and quality assurance standards while ensuring guest satisfaction. This position demands precision, creativity, and a passion for culinary arts, particularly pastry and baking.

The ideal candidate will follow established recipes to efficiently create exquisite desserts and accommodate special guest requests with a refined understanding of pastry techniques. Responsibilities include measuring and mixing ingredients, preparing pie fillings, custards, and other fillings, regulating oven temperatures, decorating cakes and pastries, and ensuring the organization and cleanliness of all food preparation areas in accordance with health and safety standards. The Pastry Cook also plays a key role in inventory management by monitoring supplies and communicating the need for goods to kitchen leadership.

This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain a neat and organized workspace. The Pastry Cook must be capable of multitasking in a fast-paced kitchen environment, display a professional appearance, and adhere strictly to safety and sanitation protocols. Effective communication and the willingness to participate in cross-training and team activities are essential for success in this role. The individual will contribute to a welcoming environment by greeting and interacting warmly with internal and external guests using professional language consistent with company standards.

  • Culinary, pastry or baking degree or related training preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience required
  • Food safety certification preferred or to be attained within 30 days
  • Understanding of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment use and cleaning
  • Ability to work safely in kitchen environment with high temperatures and humidity
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 lbs regularly
  • Willingness to adapt to variable schedules and work more than 40 hours
  • Ability to multitask and effectively communicate
  • Ability to maintain professional appearance and hygiene
  • Comfortable working in a busy and noisy environment
  • Must work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
