Position: HVAC Technician (DDC/BAS)

Location: Baltimore, MD

6-month contract to hire

Pay Rate: $25-$30 Hourly Based on Experience

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a HVAC Controls Technician to support the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Building Automation Systems (BAS) throughout Maryland. This role will primarily support sitesĀ in the Baltimore and Fort Meade areas and is ideal for an HVAC professional looking to grow their controls experience while working directly with customers and advanced building systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, and service of BAS and HVAC control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and service Allerton and Automated Logic Controls (ALC) systems.
  • Conduct point-to-point checkouts to verify proper installation and operation of control systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues.
  • Complete project documentation, service reports, and commissioning records accurately and on time.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience servicing HVAC systems and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of VAV Systems, Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Coil Units, HVAC Ductwork, Mechanical Piping Systems, Experience working with Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Professional, dependable, and customer-focused attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Central Utility Plant experience.
  • Direct Digital Controls (DDC) troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience performing point-to-point checkout activities with ALC systems.
  • Construction experience within HVAC, controls, or building automation environments.
  • Basic controls programming (logic development and modification).
  • Basic low-voltage electrical experience.
  • Experience commissioning BAS and HVAC control systems.
