As a Medical Records Clerk, you will support an active personal injury law team by managing medical records, billing statements, and case documentation with accuracy and consistency. You will request records from healthcare providers, track missing documents, organize files in case management software, and help ensure the legal team has the information they need. This role is a strong fit for someone who is highly organized, comfortable following up with medical offices, and trusted with confidential patient information. Because the work supports real legal cases, your attention to detail and follow-through will directly help the team serve clients more effectively.
Responsibilities
Request and track medical records, billing statements, and related documents from healthcare providers
Maintain an accurate records tracker so case documentation is complete, current, and easy to review
Review incoming records for completeness, accuracy, and proper case assignment
Sort, label, upload, and organize documents in case management or document management software
Follow up consistently with medical offices, clinics, hospitals, and internal team members on pending requests
Protect patient confidentiality and support HIPAA-compliant handling of sensitive medical information
Communicate clearly in English and Spanish with providers, legal staff, and other stakeholders
Flag missing, incomplete, or unclear documentation so issues can be resolved quickly
Support smooth case progress by keeping records organized, searchable, and ready for attorney or case manager review.
