Job Summary:
The General Maintenance (Facilities) Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating maintenance activities for plant facilities, building systems, and mobile equipment. This role ensures preventive and corrective maintenance is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements, while supporting reliability, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Pay Rate between $80,000 to $110,000
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
(Including but not limited to)
Supervision & Team Leadership
Supervise and coordinate maintenance staff, including Plant Services Team, mobile equipment technicians/mechanics, and contractors
Assign daily work orders and prioritize tasks based on operational needs
Train team members on procedures, safety requirements, and proper equipment use; conduct toolbox talks
Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching in alignment with McWane Way principles
Schedule coverage, overtime, and on‑call rotations
Reports to the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive maintenance programs
Ensure timely repair and upkeep of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and structural systems
Respond to emergency maintenance issues as required
Monitor equipment condition, performance, and reliability
Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed to standard and on schedule
Facility & Systems Oversight
Oversee upkeep of buildings, grounds, and infrastructure
Ensure compliance with building codes, permits, and regulatory requirements
Safety & Compliance
Enforce workplace safety policies and procedures
Conduct safety inspections and job hazard analysis
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local regulations
Maintain safety documentation, incident reports, and corrective action records
Lead or support safety training and toolbox talks
Work Orders, CMMS & Documentation
Manage maintenance work orders using the CMMS
Track labor hours, parts usage, and equipment downtime
Maintain accurate maintenance records for audits and inspections
Generate performance reports, including mobile equipment downtime tracking and communication
Vendor & Contractor Management
Coordinate work performed by vendors and contractors
Review scopes of work and ensure quality and timely completion
Monitor contractor safety compliance
Assist with vendor selection and ongoing performance evaluation
Inventory & Resource Management
Maintain spare parts and maintenance supply inventory
Order materials and manage costs
Ensure tools and equipment are available, maintained, and serviceable
Minimize downtime due to parts or resource shortages
Budgeting & Cost Control
Assist with development and management of the maintenance budget
Monitor expenses, labor costs, and variances
Identify cost‑saving opportunities, including repair vs. replacement decisions
Support capital projects and asset life‑cycle planning
Communication & Coordination
Serve as a point of contact between maintenance, operations, and management
Coordinate maintenance activities around production or occupancy schedules
Communicate issues, risks, and improvement opportunities to leadership
Continuous Improvement
Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements
Support reliability initiatives and root cause analysis
Implement best practices in maintenance management
Support sustainability and energy‑efficiency initiatives

Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise maintenance personnel

Working knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements
Physical Demands :
Must be able to meet physical and medical requirements for the role
Requires walking, bending, squatting, and use of hands to handle tools and controls
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs by hand and heavier items using equipment
May require working outdoors in varying weather conditions
