Shift Schedule
1st Shift 6am- 2:30pm overtime as needed
About the Role
The CNC Lathe Lead Machinist is responsible for coordinating day-to-day lathe operations while performing advance setups and supporting productions needs on the shop floor. This role focuses on assigning work, assigning machinists, and ensuring jobs are properly executed to meet quality and efficient standards. The position works under the directions of the Production Manager and plays a key role in maintaining workflow and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Assign Daily tasks to CNC lathe machinist and operators as directed
- Perform complex setups on CNC lathes (2-axis, live tooling, muli-axis)
- Ensure all jobs are properly set up, verified, and ready for production
-Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings accurately
- Assist machinist and operators with setups, troubleshooting, and technical issues
- support program verification and make minor edits as needed (feeds, speeds, offsets)
-Adhere to quality standards to minimize nonconformances and rework
-Monitor workflow and communicate issues impacting production to the Production Manager
Qualifications
- 5+ years of CNC Lathe experience
-Proven experience performing set ups
-Experience with live tooling and/or multi-axis lathes preferred
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling and materials
- Knowledge of GD&T and inspection requirements
- Knowledge of G and M code
-knowledge with CNC Controls (Haas and/or Fanuc)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
-Prior Lead or team coordination experience
-Experience in tight tolerance and high precision machining environments
-knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00 - $42.00 per hour
